God is a Glitch, 2021
Tension between reality and religion.
photography, collage, paper, acrylic, pastel on canvas
150cm x 100cm
Searching for meaning within the boundaries of life, Sydney artist Cathy Frank’s new series Godless delves into the fleshy and often controversial topic of god, sinful behaviour and her ultimate rebellion against organised religion.
Frank draws inspiration from her own childhood with her artwork “God is a Glitch”, exploring her liberation from Catholicism and coming to terms with her own existence and the reality that comes with it.
“God is a Glitch” is 1.5m x 1m, features mixed techniques, and uses photography, digital manipulation, acrylic and pastels with silk screen print on stretched canvas.
